HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Happy new year everyone, i am three days late with this but stay with me, Its been a busy few days, we have been in Oxford, and now in the city of Bath.

I have written this post a couple times but the app i use had crashed a few times and deleted the post before i could post it, no saves, so i got annoyed and didn't feel like rewriting it again till today haha

I feel like a giant, why? Because the place we stayed at had a low roof ,mainly we were staying in the attic room, and the old historic buildings have low roofs and smaller doors, archways, tables, you get the point...

Anyways, Oxford, it is lovely, many unis and collages to explore over their Christmas holidays, not many people and large places to explore when you walk around them. If you're into your Harry Potter stuff you can find the inspiration for several of the film locations here, things like the hallways, courtyards and even the great hall itself, located in Christchurch uni.

One of the other unis we had walked through had its own deer park on the grounds, sadly the deer were hiding at the far corner (sad face). The buildings themselves were impressive and had history to them, a small river stream ran through it and the gardens you could walk around for about an hour just following the path around the grounds, makes me almost want to go to uni here, but we all know I'll just be here to be like James Bond haha.

In the city we finally gotten the hang of working out the bus routes and if you plan to travel around a lot then get yourself a 24 smart ride ticket, cheaper and only need one ticket to scan with no extra charges, orrrrrr even more useful as the temperatures have dropped and its getting colder the more south we head as well.

Its been hard walking around the shops though, and looking at things as we can't really just go and buy things, i mean we could but then the holiday would be shorter, plus we still have to carry everything with us till we can offload at a post office. But still, anytime we go into a WHSmith or any book store, questons and justifications start and the wondering of, " im sure if we just move this in the bag we can fit another book or two".
But we have been pretty good, only got two new books out of the several we have been eyeing off. But i do have a list now of books to get and read.

But the best thing we had done in Oxford, besides the urban exploration, sights,  history and cultures.
Is being able to buy fireworks without any problems, which was the best idea to go for instead of going out and getting wasted.
Instead a nice simple picnic dinner in a large park by ourselves, blankets, wine, watching the whole city having fireworks going off around us, and being able to light ours up, run like crazy from them and turn to watch our very own join the night sky... what else could you ask for to start the new year?...

Coffee from maccas that morning :)
